Eruejerien (Jerien) Okoh-Tisch has been a performing musician since the age of 11. Mrs. Okoh-Tisch has extensive professional training in all areas of music ranging from private studies to classroom studies.  She holds a Bachelors of Music performance from the Johns Hopkins Peabody Institute of Music and is certified to teach instrumental and general music PreK-12.  She also holds a VA state Certification to teach Elementary education K-6.  Her additional studies have taken her to the Walnut Hill School and New England Conservatory, Vanderbilt University, and the University of MN.  She has been principal cellist with the Minnesota Youth Symphony, assistant principal cellist with the Vanderbilt University Orchestra, and has performed on tour with Grammy award winning artists Kanye West and Joe Pace in 2005. She frequently attends the Bowdoin International Music Festival spending the summer of 2006 as performance assistant to the award winning pedagogue Peter Howard.  Ms. Okoh has a passion for private teaching and has eleven years of experience in the field. When not playing, piano, violin, or her cello Ms. Okoh has found a passion for vocalizing and recording as lead vocalist for several jazz ensembles including the Establishment Jazz Ensemble in Nashville, TN.

Jacqueline M. Okoh holds a B.A. degree in Music Education from the College of St. Scholastica, specializing in Piano and Voice. She has 30+ years of professional teaching experience at home and abroad with emphasis on piano and voice.  Instrumental coaching of other instrumentalists will be considered only on an advanced level. Her students routinely participate in the State Theory and Piano exams as well as the State Competition.  Students typically earn scores of Distinction and High Distinction.  Several students are declared District and State Winners every year. Mrs. Okoh is licensed through the Music Teacher’s National Association, the MMTA, and theVMTA. She has been music director at several churches for over 30 years and is also a member of the NPM (National Pastoral Musicians Association).
